Whiskey Barrel Aged Coffee
Guatemalan beans undergo double transformation—first in the highlands of Huehuetenango, then in oak barrels that once held whiskey. For a minimum of 30 days, green coffee rests in these barrels, absorbing the ghost of spirits past: vanilla, caramel, oak tannins, the memory of char and aging. This is alchemy through infusion, beans becoming vessels for flavors they never grew with, wood and time working their slow magic.
The barrel-aging process is patience rewarded. As beans rest in oak that once breathed whiskey, they take on complexity impossible to achieve through roasting alone—subtle notes of bourbon warmth, oak depth, vanilla sweetness layering beneath Guatemala's natural brown sugar and chocolate character. Then comes fire: medium roasting that develops these acquired flavors while preserving the coffee's origin brightness, creating harmony between what the earth gave and what the barrel added.
This is transformation twice over—first by barrel, then by roast. The result is coffee that speaks of both mountain and cask, bean and bourbon, a marriage of two ancient crafts. Whether opening the morning or contemplating the evening, Whiskey Barrel Aged offers coffee as liquid alchemy, smooth and complex and unlike anything else in the cup.
