Kenya

In the red volcanic soils of Nyeri County, where the Othaya Farmers Cooperative works land blessed by altitude and ancient mineral wealth, coffee becomes an expression of terroir and tradition. This is Kenya—beans grown between 1,700 and 1,890 meters, processed with meticulous care on raised drying beds where sun and air work their slow magic.

The farmers of Othaya are part of nearly 4,000 cooperatives that formed to control their own destiny, managing marketing and export collectively rather than surrendering to intermediaries. The Gatugi Factory processes cherries through extended fermentation followed by soaking and multiple density sorts—precision work that honors the potential locked in each bean. SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, and Batian varietals contribute their distinct characters to create something effervescent and alive: bright acidity like morning light, citrus notes of orange and lemon, floral aromatics, a sweet balance that lingers.

This is air element embodied—bright, clarifying, elevating. Whether sparking inspiration or sharpening focus, Kenya offers coffee as crystalline expression. It's liquid clarity in your cup.
